Movie night @ THE MILL puts smiles on little faces. Hula hoop and limbo competitions, a giant inflatable slide, color hair spray and glitter tattoos are just a few of the activities you can expect while we’re waiting for the sun to go down. On Saturday, June 11, the feature movie was “Yogi Bear”.

The Alabama Blues Brothers June 2011

Do you love blues and rock? On Saturday, June 11, The Alabama Blues Brothers ignited the stage. They are the only Blues Brothers impersonators in the world who are actual brothers. The Alabama Blues Brothers have performed to more than 2000 audiences and have been reviewed as two of the most realistic Blues Brothers impersonators.

Christmas Tree Lighting + Arrival of Santa December 2010

Wintery fun celebration! On Saturday, December 4, we met on this cold evening @ THE MILL to welcome the Christmas holiday season. Toys for Tots accepted monetary donations and new toys for children of West Georgia. Gloria Bannister and the 24 Karat Jazz band performed festive Christmas carols, and we enjoyed dance performances by Michelle’s Academy of Dance. Local businesses gave complementary hot chocolate and treats for tasting at their shops and @ THE MILL.

Villa Rica Pet Parade November 2010

A day for our “furry friends”! Young and old, big and small, furry and feathered, four legs or two, on Saturday, November 6, folks grabbed their family and friends and joined in this fun-filled day. Ribbons were awarded for pet games and contests. Each pet received a Villa Rica Pet Parade dog tag and a bandana for attending this event.

Downtown Trick-or-Treat + Halloween Fest @ THE MILL October 2010

Children enjoyed the best of both worlds in a safe environment @ THE MILL and throughout downtown. Downtown business owners handed out candy at their shops and @ THE MILL. On Saturday, October 30, kids and parents participated in a parade of costumes, hay rides, played games for candy, got their face painted, got a new hair-do at our “Crazy” hair booths and danced on THE MILL’s dance floor.

Golden City Cruisers Car Show + Halloween Fest “Grand Finale” October 2010

8th Annual Charity Car Show – On Saturday, October 16, event-goers enjoyed an afternoon filled with 150+ classic cars and street rods, a costume contest, tasty food and live 50s music performed by Ernie Baker & the Thunder Thieves. Other activities included a $1,000 raffle, cake walk, 50/50 and “Coffin for Cash” for a chance to buy the key to open the coffin that contained hundreds of dollars.

“A Taste of Villa Rica” October 2010

Get you hunger “On”! On Saturday, October 9, arts and crafts vendors, artists groups, area restaurants and local businesses participated in the inaugural “A Taste of Villa Rica”. This event provided a wonderful opportunity for local eateries and sponsors to promote their business in our community while supporting the Rapha Clinic.

Movie night @ THE MILL is a real treat! Whether your teen is normal or he/she’s discovered that they are the descendant of a Greek, they enjoyed this night. On Saturday, August 21, the feature movie was “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief”.

Summer Concert with Tropical Steel Vibes August 2010

The sound of the islands! With the toasty, hot temps and the sound of steel drums, the audience was swept away to a tropical destination. On Saturday, August 7, Tropical Steel Vibes performing reggae, calypso and other Island-flavored music.

The Market @ THE MILL Farmers’ Market – June through September 2010

Local farmers bring fresh produce from their gardens each week to sell to the public at this green space venue. Enjoy homegrown fruits, vegetables, plants, herbs, flowers, eggs, homemade baked goods, jellies and jams and honey and cooking demonstrations, too.

THE MILL Grand Opening May 2010

A Cause for Celebration! On Saturday, May 8th, the City of Villa Rica celebrated the grand opening of THE MILL amphitheater with performances by the Thomas A. Dorsey Choir, League of Decency and Blend of Men along with a ceremonial ribbon cutting, food and craft vendors, a hands-on gold panning exhibit, kidz corner and more.
